  • Late Night/Early Morning PAINful Self Revelations

I've looked at all these fancy little 'featured questions' and surveys about your ideal friend, or your most desired quality in a friend. I've read many interesting answers and entries and if I had to put some numbers up, I'd say that about 87% of those entries encircle the virtue of trust and loyalty.

I've two words for you trust and loyalty hopefuls.
    Good Luck.

As much faith as I have in mankind, and as much as I'd love to be optomistic that there are people with kind enough hearts to care about your path in life?
    The Truth Of The Matter,
    Everyone has their own Agenda.
No one in this world except YOU, and maybe your mother, has your best interest at heart.
It's human nature, the art of self-preservation. And what I ask you, makes one turn on human nature? Nothing, because it's strictly a sub-concious reflex. It's human nature for someone to go after the things that make their lives better, no matter who they step on in the process.

I've got friends. Yeah, but we don't have a friendship, we've got a brotherhood. Not a fraternity, or a clique, we treat our friendship as if we were brothers. We don't neccessarily trust one another 100%

Anyone outside that realm is held under different standards, period.

    I just can't trust anyone I suppose.

    ((P.s., Don't take this personally.))

  • Heath Ledger. The Joker.

I've seen The Dark Knight, twice, and it isn't nearly enough. I've seen Heath in '10 things I hate about you', 'A knights tale', 'I'm not there', 'Candy', 'the brothers grimm', 'the order', 'monster's ball', 'the patriot' and lastly, The Dark Knight.

I've never been one to concern myself with the deaths, and causes of the aforementioned, of "celebrities". But being that Heath Ledger just finished portraying my most favorite villain of all-time, his sudden death afterwards seems to perturb me in some form or fashion. His life has been chronicled in 3 print biographies, 11 interviews, 132 articles, 6 pictorials, and 11 magazing covers. Yet the piece that most disturbed my natural order of thinking, was the article that claims it may have been the role of The Joker, the role of a criminal comic book villain, that was what led him to his demise.

Imagine doc robbins on CSI, "Well, Grissom, the C.O.D. isn't certain, but if I were putting money on it, I'd say the Joker Killed him."

In an interview he did with the New York times in November, where he states that playing the character of the Joker left him mentally and physically drained.  His take on the character is dark. Ledger explains him as being a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy.”

He said “I stressed out a little too much”, which left him unable to sleep despite taking Ambien and other sleep aids. “Last week I probably slept and average of two hours a night.”.

So did the Joker take over his mind and eventually end his life in a horribly ironic twist worthy of his green haired alter-ego? Or is it a case of careless misuse of prescription medication by a guy who was overworked, stressed about his recent breakup, and missing his two-year old daughter?
Maybe the Joker will get the last laugh after all.

Certainly, his performance in TDK, is absolutely terrifying, so beautifully terrifying, and perfect.

But fear not! We have one more movie with which to say our goodbyes to Mr. Ledger...

The title doesn't really make me want to see the movie, but I might just to say I did.

Look for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in 2009.

  • What is the one thing you would do if you had the day off today?

If I had the day off today, I would have written a poem for Sadee.
If I had the day off today, I would have ran a lap around SH360
If I had the day off today, I would have told my mother my honest opinions.
If I had the day off today, I would have seen The Dark Knight, again.
If I had the day off today, I would have cleaned my room
If I had the day off today, I would have written a blog of more substance.
If I had the day off today, I would have worked out... a little.
If I had the day off today, I would seek out Morgan Freeman and listen to him ramble on about nothing, just for the simple pleasure of enjoying his accent.
If I had the day off today, I would have flown to Australia and enjoyed the menagerie of beautiful hues that is the Great Barrier Reef.
If I had the day off today, I would have become Batman.

That is what I would have done, had I had the day off.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

  • Shuffle songs, Playlists.

Music. It makes the world go, "Hey! do ya mind?"

A playlist can say alot about a person, just as much as a weblog entry can.
Here, is one I believe could be associated with my mind.

    #1 Hotel California- The Eagles
This song, is my all time favorite song. Some may call it cliche, but I really think this song speaks to my soul. I rarely have a moment to relax these days, but the chord progressions and soulful solos really help me unwind. The lyrics have been disputed by many, but I think with my interpretation, it's really a beautiful metaphor of my life. Shame I didn't have the creative prowess to actually write it.

Favorite line: "'Relax,' said the night man,
    'We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
    But you can never leave."

    #2 Allure- Sean "Jay-Z" Carter
A definite change in genre than my first song, but still a very chill song nonetheless. This song is about how life always ends the same way, and that living life with a high off living is definitely a way to go. Sean speaks about how he 'puts his feet in the footprints left to him', and that to me, says that we're all just walking the same path as the person before us.

Favorite line: "And I can't explain why, I just love to get high
Drink life, smoke the blueberry sky, blink twice
I'm in the blueberry 5, you blink three times
I may not even be alive,..."

#3 Just a song before I go- Crosby, Stills and Nash
Once again, you'll have to forgive me for jumping genres, but my musical interest is as multi-faceted as I am. This song, however short it may be, really does get it's point across. This song was written by Graham Nash, and could have very well been talking about how hard it is to love on the road. Or even how hard it is to love when "traveling twice the speed of sound" in the eyes of the media, the fame. I can definitely identify.

    Favorite Line:"Just a song before I go,
    a lesson to be learned,
Traveling twice the speed of sound,
    it's easy to get burned"

    #4 Sunshine- Lupe Fiasco
I love me some Lupe Fiasco. If ever there should be position to speak on behalf of the streets of Chicago, I'd vote this man in. This song and I had many a play back when I was a junior. Very much a love starved kid, this song was exactly my mentality when approaching a temporary love interest. Without a doubt this song trancended the typical paradigm of superficial approach to "love". And the beat was pretty sick.

Favorite Line: "I think I like her like a metaphor
    it's hard to get"

    #5 Gemini- Brian Kahanek
For those of you who recognize this title from Guitar Hero 2's bonus tracklist, rest assured this song and I have a history before the time of Harmonix and the cult of GH. This song is truly a beautiful song, completely guitar and can be found in your "psychadellic" genre. This song is somewhat hard to explain, it just kinda gives me this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. Good feelings.

    Favorite Line: (N/A)

#6 Purple Rain- The artist formerly known as Prince
Prince, to this day, remains one of my favorite artists. And Purple Rain, as some of you may remember from the Super Bowl XLI halftime show, this may be the song that people will remember when they hear his name. (not to mention, that bad-ass purple guitar that he was playing.) This song is a very emotional, very powerful love song that I can indentify with as well.

Favorite Line: "Baby I could never steal you from another
It's such a shame our friendship had to end
    "

    #7 Here With Me- DoubleTAKE
Far be it for me to toot my own horn, but...'Beep beep'. I wrote and recorded this song in about a week after a month of contemplation and 4 years of contemplation. This was the first song I rapped, sung, and wrote the guitar tabs for. It's a love song about a past love interest that I let slip through my fingers in junior high. I feel a little mopy when I listen to it, but I still enjoy the song as if it's by another artist.

Favorite Line:"You can almost see her wings,
    Hidin' from behind her shoulders
it was silent feelin, I regret I hadn't told her
How I wanted to make her mine,
make her smile and hold her."

This is kinda all I had time for, that plus it's 2 am here.
Props to Coincidentally for the idea.

    Hasta Luego, Ya Digg?
